Pattern Curator is evolving. Below are answers to common questions about the transition from Trend Service to Curatorial Intelligence.

Why is Pattern Curator making this change?

The way designers research and develop ideas has evolved. Pattern Curator originally began as a seasonal trend report subscription. While those reports were valuable, the work has naturally grown into a more dynamic process of visual research, interpretation, and creative direction.

Curatorial Intelligence and Pattern Curator Advisory allow this work to happen in a more flexible and exploratory way — supporting designers through curated visual research, contextual insight, and collaborative guidance.

Is Pattern Curator going away?

No. Pattern Curator is continuing — but in a new form. The original Trend Service is closing, but the work is evolving into two new directions:

Curatorial Intelligence (CI) — a visual research platform featuring curated moodboards, editorial insight, and AI-assisted contextual research.

Pattern Curator Advisory — a more personalized way to explore creative direction through consulting, workshops, and collaborative conversations with designers and creative teams.

What is Curatorial Intelligence (CI)?

Curatorial Intelligence is Pattern Curator’s visual research platform designed for designers and creative teams. The platform brings together curated moodboards, color signals, and editorial insight to highlight emerging creative patterns across fashion, print, and design. Integrated AI tools support deeper contextual research and help generate ideas for interpretation and creative direction. Rather than fixed seasonal reports, CI supports an ongoing process of observation and interpretation.

What is Pattern Curator Advisory?

Pattern Curator Advisory offers a more personalized way to work together around creative direction and design insight. Through advisory sessions and consulting, designers, artists, and creative teams can explore concept development, color and print direction, and the interpretation of cultural signals within fashion and design.

In addition to one-on-one advisory work, Pattern Curator will also offer workshops, trend presentations, and other tailored programs designed to support creative teams and organizations. Rather than a fixed trend report, advisory work is collaborative and shaped around the needs of each project or creative practice.

When will the Trend Service close?

The Pattern Curator Trend Service will officially close on April 1. Existing subscribers will receive communication regarding their remaining subscription time and account status.

What happens to my current subscription?

All current subscribers will receive an email with details about their subscription.

Depending on the status of your account, this may include:

• cancellation of future renewals
• prorated refunds or credits
• information about accessing the new Curatorial Intelligence platform

Is Pattern Curator still offering trend insight?

Yes — but the approach is evolving. Rather than publishing fixed seasonal reports, Pattern Curator is focusing on curated visual research, interpretation, and creative direction through Curatorial Intelligence and advisory work.
